New Owner RX7 - Intro and Guidance
Firstly, thrilled to be part of this Forum. I recently acquired from a friend his pride and joy. He owned this RX7 since new, garaged kept and he proudly handed over to me the catalog, sticker, paperwork, etc. This was a Scottsdale AZ car, but I recently moved to Boston. I shipped the car to PA to another friend who once owned a few RX7's himself.
Anyway, upon starting the car (the day it was loaded on the covered courier truck), I noticed excessive smoking.
1. Any guidance on what this could be?
2. Any well recommended rotary shops in PA area?
Pics included.
Thank you and I look forward to hearing back!

If the car was cold and hadn't been "run until warm" recently, then it's probably nothing. My RX always blew a bit of smoke on start up if it was cold and had only been run recently for short trips. Warm it up thoroughly, drive it hard for 10 to 15 minutes. Then shut it off and let it cool down. Then restart it; any noticable smoke? If so, have a dealer check it out.
Good luck.
Good luck.

Nice pick up and welcome to the forum. Smoke could be from sitting awhile, turbo oil seals or coolant seals. Check out the 3rd section, it has a lot of good information.
