TX New owner, low mile GXL

I just purchased a 1990 GXL.

Crystal white
5 speed
Blue Cloth interior
72,000 miles

Original owner was a middle aged woman.

I've been driving it on my commute in Houston for 2 weeks now. Lotsa fun! Glad to be back in a sports car with a stick.

I'm sure I'll have a lot of questions as I get familiar with it.

I need to take the original radio out that is dead, adjust the driver door to shut easier, grease the motors so everything operated smoothly etc.

I've been looking on and off since I rode in a 90Turbo about 8 years ago... Opportunity finally came. Funny thing is I'm in an opposite scenario. My wife just had a baby and needed to get a better commuter car. I pitched it to her as well and she thought it was a good idea.

anyway! Hello everyone!

Thanks! I appreciate it.

Soon I'll be looking to pick up a vert hood to take some weight off the front end... That steel hood is heavy!

I'm getting used to the factory seat but I'm 6'2" and it is a bit tight with poor support over all. I may have to get creative to fix this too.

But man are these cars fun! Still got 18 mpg driving like an idiot w/ a grin.

Thanks fellas

The original owner had it posted up for awhile on the local craigslist. He wanted $4000. I felt like it was out of my budget so I checked a few other cars and came back to this one after they didn't work out. But when I went to check again the ad was expired. Luckily I had programmed the phone number into my cell. lol!

I went and looked at the car and drove it. Talked to him awhile. He just needed to get rid of it so I asked him what his range was. He said he'd take a little less but wasn't going to entertain any offers like $1500. So I offered him $3600 and he agreed on the spot.

I just got the heavy old dead original radio out as well as the blown rear speakers. So the dash looks like crap hahha.

I'm starting to feel like I want to convert to manual seat belts >.>

Haven't had much luck finding a white aluminum hood yet. Well, at least one that they will ship.

The fact this car is original down to the exhaust blows my mind, hahaha.
