Hi My name is Raj, just added a new rx7 gs to the family ( below 10K original miles ).
Nice solid car, but apparently first owner drove a bit from storage with driver side rear wheel locked on the brake cylinder. After fixing that I found out that the differential have the clunking noise on right rear. Have to see how I am going to get this noise fixed, before it gets worse. Also I want to upgrade to power assist. Right now it seems to be really hard to steer. Since got used driving My gls-se with power assist and it was a nice one to drive daily. Any advices from rx club to fix and upgrade. Thank you.

Welcome, Raj!

Nice score! Do you have any interior pics? If it does have only 10k miles, I personally wouldn't mod it at all (including PS). I would just maintain it and keep it nice and stock.

Thank you, Yes it true still below 9K miles. PS will enhance the driving and easy on parking and corners. I have another GS with 28k sitting in my garage right now not starting, will need the carb work. BTW Right now some one on ebay selling a GSL with 13k miles and with PS but it has some issue with engine, the car won't drive very far currently. It will eventually lose all of its power and stall. Any noe here interested to grab that car. I was really tempted to get that one also.

Please advice on how to diagnose the clunking problem in differential clunking noise. Car have 8.5 K miles the original issue began the driver rear wheel cylinder frozen and locked up, people drive like that for approximately for test drives, before I bought it. After replacing with new brake cylinder the noise is coming from right rear while freewheeling or during the braking operation. Also Please advice on non LSD differential issues, test procedures when both rears lifter etc. Thank you.

Yes, there was another car GSL with 13k on ebay, today got sold below 5700. That had some engine issue. but it was really a desirable car, will all options including Power assisted steering, clean leather interior, Some one was lucky to get that car. If I were to bid on it it would have crossed over 6200 easy.
