Hello! Just got my T2 a couple weeks ago and have been glued to this forum so I thought Id make an account. My current goal is a med/heavy mod drift/street setup following a full restoration. The car is stock as it sits, and by sits I mean sits. It is a bit overwhelming trying to start a T2 engine after supposedly a year of sitting. Ive replaced some rusted exhaust, oil, fuel, coolant. The main fuse was blown, so I took off the intercooler and found a large wire(I assume the starter wire) had been rubbing against the alternator. I patched it up and the fuel pump sounded like it was running and the car would crank. Should I not bother with the current pump and replace it anyway? The problem though seems to be I'm not getting any spark. There was no spark at the plug or coil. Engine bay fuses are good and that one fuse needed for spark operation inside the cabin is good as well. I'll poke around with my meter more soon but if anyone has insight, any would be appreciated thanks.

Welcome! There's a to to starting a TII after its been sitting. Lets leave that to the tech section and keep the intro section as your intro. Do you have a 10th Anniversary? If so, I have a registry in the 2nd gen section. I have been keeping track of the 10AE's for the last 13 years. Would love to see pictures of your car!
