New Member - Massively Caught Surprised
Hello,
I was recently given a 1987 S4 FC RX7, GXL edition by an old neighbor. I had mentioned previously that I liked the car and, as he was moving away, he just gave it to me. The past owner gifted it to me on the day that he left to move across country and gave me some vague instructions about it.
Truthfully, while I always admired the car and definitely want to own it, I was caught under surprise and wasn't given enough time to do my own research. I know the very basics of the rotary engine and am currently researching more on the car, but the owner gave very vague instructions about how the "oil injector was going bad" and that I should do a complete and thorough maintenance check on everything. From what I noticed, it looks like it hasn't been smogged and that I need to reattach the catalytic converter.
After the catalytic converter, I think I need to go over the OMP and Coolant system as my next priority.
Regardless, I'm excited for this new venture and hope to learn many things.

Welcome to the forum! Being given the car had to feel amazing! It's quite an amazing gift! We can help you get all of the issues sorted out and the 2nd Gen section is full of incredible people that have a lot to offer! There's a wealth of information here on the forum! Would definitely love to see pictures of the car!
