I am in the process of buying a RX7 in Nairobi. There were a few here, and usually when the engine developed problems, it was thrown away and replaced by a small 4 cylinder engine. I owned such a car in the 90s and it was horrendous! Luckily when this one had engine low compression issues (could only be started by towing..) it just got parked. So it still has its original engine.
I am looking for recommendations for an engine rebuilder in the U.K. I was considering Motorsport and Performance Aimee Bradley in Yorkshire.
Kindly guide me...
Hi, Yesterday I went to see the car and took some detailed photos, I would appreciate all comments as I am new to this car...It has been parked for years... The car was originally from the U.K. and I believe white in colour. Still looking for advice on U.K. based engine rebuilder. Turns out he has a second car, without engine or gearbox, for spares, I will need to have a look at it too...
Welcome to the forum!! The car appears to be complete and worthy of a restoration! I would buy both of the car he has to be honest. They seem to be very rare where you live and having a second to restore or for parts would be amazing!
Hard to tell what the original color was. On the vin plavinhere in the U.S. it lists the color code. I see on that vin plate it lists an NTA. NO. in place of the color code. I'm not entirely sure what the NTA. NO. is.
What year is it? Looks like an 82 or 83. It has the RH hood prop that stows in the fender like the LH ones. Probably the rarest (at least in the US) of the 3 different prop versions. You might inquire here about a UK builder: www.RX7fb.com - Index page

To my knowledge all right hand drive RX-7 from around 1980 have the same style hood prop (what we call a "bonnet stay" lol). Only the early s1 differs, which had a bracket integrated into the underside of the bonnet/hood.
The chassis 663xxx places it as early series 2, as they started from 650001 in 1981.
