Hello. My name is Dave and I wish I had a 3-car garage.
I sold my last "spare" car, '01 Jeep Cherokee, last Fall, but I quickly got the itch for another project. So, there's now an '83 GSL sitting in front of the house, where the Cherokee had been (and a Wrangler before that one, and so on). I trolled CL for months, looking for a decent Fox body ('87-'93) 5.0 Mustang, but all in my price range had been hot rodded to ground. I am so glad I passed on all those heaps and got the RX7. It's more fun to drive and won't be the money pit a Stang would have been.
First thing on the list is new tires. I'm hoping that cures the vibrator-chair ride "feature" I now experience at speeds over 40 MPH. Then, I've got an entire replacement interior, including seats and dash, from PO's purchase of a parts car. He had bought my car with intention of restoring it as a father-son project. But that didn't get very far. He was happy to get rid of it and I got a straight, rust-free, low mileage (113K) unit with a boatload of extra parts for $2,000 USD. Plus, my wife thinks its cute! Win/win/win.
