IL new member in il!

hello all! im mark and i live in dekalb il. i just got my hands on a 1988 rx7 convertible. next to no rust, runs good, has a startup warmup procedure issue i need to diagnose, needs a brake master cyl, and needs a new top. not like ruined but its got 2 generous tears in it. my roomate showed me the site since he had an s4 2g a while back that i did his maintenance on. so im not clueless to the rotary but i still have a lot to learn. im an ase cert mechanic and i specialize in Japanese cars. so far i adore this car. it handles great, rides smooth, and is quick enough to be fun. power adders are something i need to read up on for this car since its such a unique drivetrain. im open to any and all suggestions. i found a racing beat full exhaust system on cl im planning on picking up asap. its the race spec one thats true dual all the way back. anyone have any complaints about this system? its raining ***** here right now or id go take some pix of the new car for you all. but i can get them up another time. any suggestions or advice is appreciated! and thanks for a great resource!

Welcome!

Racing beat makes some decent quality stuff... more so in the old days but even still they aren't that bad.

Yes gas is much cheaper in dekalb. I work in barrington so I always try to fill up in dekalb to save a few bucks. How hard was the turbo swap on your convertible?

Still finishing it up, but so far not bad. It is an S5 convertible so I'm using all S5 TII parts including the motor. Everything is the same under the hood except for the cradle. Nothing needs to be fabricated if you use all stock components from the TII.
