AB New member from the Edmonton

Hi, my name is Ben, I am from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. I am in the finishing stages of replacing the motor in my 93 B2200 with a S4 NA motor. It is running now, just putting interior back together, etc...

I learned alot about the motor while doing the swap, but other than driving 10ft into my garage from the driveway, I have yet to drive a rotary powered vehicle.

I have tried to keep everything simple, I purchased a complete running 1986 GSL car with a rusted out body, and I am running the stock ECU, I performed a complete emissions removal, using a 91 RX7 transmission with the truck tail section, the engine is internally stock, but I plan on installing a street ported motor with a standalone, then eventually upgrade to a turbo'd version. Once I have the truck together I will post some pics. I did not take many pictures of the swap, but I did a complete frame off build.

Yay, I moved the truck out of the garage under its own power today, first time since November first. Has a bit of dust on it though. The rest of the truck is basically stock. I have 3" lowering blocks in the back, and I re-indexed the front torsion bars to lower it.

I will be adding an electric fan, just have the stock one hanging out in the open for now lol. Also have to hook up my charcoal canister.

Sweet ....finally a rotary B2200 . I've had a few of these and lots of rotaries but have yet to do a swap. The last one I had (this year )was an ext cab , lowered like yours with a weber carb and header and exhaust. Great truck... welcome to the club.

Nice. I'm in Edmonton visiting family at least once a year. This must be a fun truck.

I have a Pacesetter header, figured if it needs modding, it would be easier than the cast log.

It only needed 1 modification to fit, I had to make the outlet come straight out, instead of turn to the inside, as you can see in the pictures, it cleared all humps in the corssmembers, I was quite suprized, buit it will involve lifting the motor to remove the header, it is very tight to the frame:

To straighten it, I gave the pipe to my friend, who is a welder by trade, and asked what he thought, what he did was cut the pipe off at the collector at an angle, rotated it around, and re-welded it, and it was straight.

After the header, I crossed the pipe over to the left side of the truck due to the gas tank being on the right side, I did with with a 90 right after the header, running the pipe under the driveshaft (I have a 2 piece driveshaft, so the front one does not move up and down with suspension).

I then installed a magnaflow oval muffler as a pre-silencer, then straight into a Magnaflow XL 3 chamber muffler that is 7" round and 36" long.

So far with about 7000KM on the swap, the exhaust has been holding up. Mine is 2 1/4" pipe too. There is a decent ammount of exhaust noise in the cab, but the exhaust crossover and pre-silencer is all under the cab, along with most of the header, and there is minimal sound insulaton in these trucks. Driving normally, you cannot hear it outside, its maybe 2 times louder than stock, but once you get the revs up, it gets louder.

Here is a link to my photobucket album, mostly contains pictures from my build, some at the end are changes I have made (rad swap, e-fan, etc...)
