Hello all. My name is Colbey, I'm a young guy. I'm also considering getting an RX-7 (read on for that).
I like working on cars. I also like unique cars. My current vehicle, for example, was chosen not for its body style (pickup truck) but because of its engine: a Cummins 6bt, which requires no electricity whatsoever to run. The truck is a 94 dodge ram 2500, btw.
Lately I have decided to get a smaller vehicle (like... a car!!) for my 2-3 mile commutes and trips other than moving loads with a truck. My truck drinks down the diesel pretty quick (18 mpg) so economy is also a big point on the radar. My budget is... well, small. Definitely a project budget.
That works for me, though, cause I'm pretty mechanically minded. I do all of the work on my truck, mainly on the engine. I am definitely up for a project and don't have to have a car tomorrow. So investment of time isn't out of the question.
That all brings me to the car in question. Here's the link to the ad: http://dallas.craigslist.org/dal/cto/2781812731.html (now don't you go buying that behind my back... ya hear!)
The reason I am here is to get y'all's opinions on the engine. I don't mind the body damage or the surface rust. A bad interior can always be replaced. But the engine. I'll just ask straight up: Do you think this car a possible gem (minus lots of tlc), or is the engine not worth it?
Thanks all, and if I wind up with a rotary engine car, I'm sure I'll love using the forums here. They seem to have a great atmosphere for tinkerers like me.

Hmm, I see that my post did make it through moderation.
Thanks for the reply, but for two reasons I'll be going with a different car. 1) this man seems to have sold his RX-7 (the ad is deleted) and 2) I have already bought a Honda Civic. Oh well. And it is good to know that parts aren't cheap, in case I consider one in the future.
