IL New Member from Chicago!

New member from Chicago here! Name is Tony.

The RX-7 has always been a "dream" car of mine since Jr High. I got introduced to the RX-7 through my sisters EX-BF around that time and have been in love since. Funny thing is, I still google his car once in a while and see it pop up once on these boards. It's one of the sickest RX-7's, very very clean. I remember always showing off to my friends pictures of his car and how cool he is.

10+ years later, now that I have more disposable income, hope to secure a clean one of my own for a good and reasonable price.

I currently drive a 2013 DGM WRX with mostly suspension mods as my DD:

Now that is the strangest looking RX-7 I have ever seen.

Says WRX on the front though so must be legit (Wankel Rotary EXperimental)

Not sure why the Subaru emblem is there though and seems a little boxy...hmmm...

Welcome!

Thanks! I need to get my RX-7 first before I can start showing up to meets. Hopefully this happens soon! This seems like a really great/helpful community. A lot better than the subaru folks on NASIOC or Facebook pages I am part of.

Folks with different car are usually welcome at the meets that I go to, so I wouldn't worry about that, plus seeing these cars (stock/modified) in person will help set the expectation when you go look for yours.

Cool! Keep me posted. I never go to the Subaru meets due to the characters at the meets. Is there a thread that you all follow that post up the meet dates?

Check out the midwest section, if we have any meet this year it will most likely get posted there.

After a 5 month journey of waiting, getting turned down on deals, saying no to bad rx7's, being too slow, I finally did it and got myself a really really really really clean FD! (barring misc paper work and the car shipped back whole). Bought it from a classy dude in KS, Mraxg7. Thank you for being so detailed about the car and taking great care of it.

Thanks to great people on the forum that gave me great advice, answered my stupid/silly questions and helped me along the process: MD93R1 and StrandedRX. Also thanks to all the stickies and old discussions (Fritz, you are a god) that I've read the past month.

This is a great community and can't wait to be part of it!
