New member aiming to build a trackday FC
Hi,
I've recently bought a 1986 N/A RX7 which I plan to modify to become my trackday toy.
I can definitely use this forum to gather usefull information in my quest to optimize handling and performance.
I'll start by introducing myself:
My name is Karel, 30 years old and I live in the Netherlands Europe.
I work as process engineer and besides that spend quite some time rebuilding my house and spending time with my wife and doughter.
The spare time I have left will from now on be used to modify my RX7 to trackday specifications.
Besides the RX7 we own a 165 HP Alfa Romeo 156 SW wich most of you US forum members probably will not be familiar with.
Ever since I was allowed to drive cars (here that is from age 18) I have been a car entusiast, I've driven mostly japanese and Italian cars. I'm a big fan of Alfa romeo's and 80's japanese sportcars.
I'll be around,
Here are some pics from the car in it's current condition, the aim is to start by getting the car in a fresh condition and than start modifying it bit by bit.
Regards,
Karel

I'll probably start with the car's handling, thinking about some koni struts or comparable, the car already has lowering springs, furthermore replace bushings, stronger front anti sway bar and more of those mod's. At this moment i'm considering the option of trying to get my hands on a T2 engine to start rebuilding and swap with my NA engine. I'll see how it goes, these engines aren't sold by the million over here.
At the moment i'm working on some cosmetic refreshening of the car (remove some dents, remove some rust spots etc etc).

Hi,
It's been a while since my last update.
My initial plans have changes slightly:
I've purchased a TII, not in the best shape and with a failing engine.
I will use all interior parts from this donor and some exterior items that aren't in such a good shape in my project rx7.
This summer I want to start with rebuilding the T2 engine and after rebuild I'm planning to swap this engine along with the T2 driveline in my car.
Still not completely sure what to do with engine management: A "plug and play" unit (link G4) or a sort or less do it yourself MS3.
Anyway for now I'll focus on tearing down the donor since it's sitting in the driveway spot that I need for building my project car.
