Good evening all.

Recently purchased a 1996 FD3S RX-7. This is my first adventure into the rotary world!

Spring plans are a 99+ spec front bumper and splitter, 5Zigen exhaust and BBS wheel, these have already been purchased.

I am based in Calgary where is it pretty cold at the moment with plenty of snow on the ground so I will be waiting till spring time for my first proper drive!

Over time I will have plenty of questions and need the forums crazy depth of knowledge to help me out.

Below is a little peek into my collection:

Thanks for reading my intro and look forward to worry free rotary ownership!

BC Look West.

Welcome! sounds like a good start to a fun project. Keep track of goings on in Western Canada on the Westcoast/Western Canada thread under the Canadian forum under Regional Forums.

We have about 95 members under our Westcoast chat. It is a good source for meets, parts and advice.

(Recommendation: Keep it silver!)

Thanks very much for the heads-up, i'll be sure to keep an eye on that thread. I plan on keeping it silver and slowly tidying it up over time!

Stop using photo bucket and switch to flikr or anything else. Photo bucket doesn't work for "us" anymore.

Welcome to the family

Congrats on the purchase and welcome to the forum!

There are a few RX7's rolling around Alberta now with quite a few arriving over the past 12 months.

Although winter sucks out here, it makes for a relaxing period in which to go over the car and prepare for the spring. Any issues be sure to hit us up! Always interested to see a new build

Mine was imported through Mark about 6/7 years ago, and I picked it up off the original owner here in Alberta. The prices recently at auction seem to be getting on the high-side!

I saw your car go through auction a little while back and wonder what lucky/crazy person took a punt on that one. Your build thread made for a good read!

Nice, so long as the previous owner looked after it and it came from Mark it should be in good shape. Plus you have some good shops locally if you ever need anything.

Thanks for reading my build thread....it's a bit text heavy but I tried to throw a pile of pictures in there recently. Your comment "lucky/crazy person".......is about right. It's awesome owning such a unique vehicle but it sure seems to be crippling my bank account!

Well, after some winter hibernation the FD is slowly taking shape. She'll be going in for an OPI in the next 7 days. New wheels and tires are fitted....and some RZ Recaros are on their way

I'm after a 99 spec front bumper and rear wing also.

How do you like the Ohlins? In my S2000, I had KW v3s and loved them. I have also run Koni, H&R, and BC Racing coils. Seats look great, I'm partial to being able to recline seats for street cars.

Ohlins are great, similar to KW v3's and H&R. I have no experience with Koni but I hear good things, BC's are a little harsh.

The RZ Recaros have a tilt function built in the rails, but yes they are a fixed back.
