New member, 20-year RX7 owner
Hi folks,
I am Liz, a new member in Kansas.
I own a '91 RX7 that I bought new in Southern California. Even after 20 years of ownership, I still think "damn, that's a beautiful car!" when I see it.
And having that rotary power under the hood has spoiled me rotten.
Bummer for me; I can no longer deal with the clutch (knee injury) and so I'm working on accepting that I'll have to switch to another car.
No more 4-on-the-floor?!? No more Mazda "zoom zoom"?!? It's hard to imagine.
But, I'll be here for a while, and you'll probably see my car in the classifieds one of these days.
I can't say enough about my RX7 experience over the years. These are just great cars!

Original owner?! Please keep it and consider to swap in an automatic. If you were in Southern Cal I'd inquire to purchase your FC.
Welcome to the forum Liz. I'm Ron.

Thanks for the welcome, everyone.
Yep, original owner for over 20 years and it's still running on engine #1. 137k miles on the whole shebang.
I appreciate the suggestions to put in an automatic transmission, but I'm afraid that -- unlike most of you guys -- I'm no mechanic.
Just bought a replacement car, so I'll be listing the RX7 for sale soon.
I envy you guys who have the passion, skills and work space to keep your cars in primo shape.

Thanks for all of the comments, folks.
I'm getting ready now to sell the car, and there are some young bucks in town who are salivating over it. They have that "let's race!" gleam in their eyes, and I'm having visions of some bonehead buying the car and then blowing it up within about a week.
I think it's some kind of maternal instinct. I don't want my baby to fall into the wrong hands and be destroyed by someone who doesn't really know these cars and/or who pushes it past its capabilities before getting it back into prime shape.

I bought my car from an older man who garaged it for years and now it's being driven through winter, but I still wash her and take care of her.

Nice looking car, you get an RX8 to replace it?
