IL New Member With an 1986 Project

So the other day i picked up a 1986 GXL manual shell. not the best condition. needs a paintjob, and a windsheild and probably a few other things including an engine and trans. and that brings me to the one who owned it before me. had the 17b in it for a while and then swapped it to a ford 5.0. he ran that for a while... then it caught on fire. the hood is very burnt but still in good condition. just a sanding and a paint job. the interior on the other hand, not so much. i will have to strip most of the interior because it is either melted or burnt past fixing. in the end i hope that i can find some of the interior parts that i need. i do plan on putting in a v8. not sure what yet tho and if anyone could point me in the direction of a good, cheap v8 that will fit in the car, please do. this will be my project and i will post a proper build thread when i get around to actually getting stuff for it. i will take pictures tomorrow and post them up so you guys can get a feel with what i am working with. this will most definitely not be an easy project but i have a total of 8000 dollars budgeted for this and i traded for the rx7 so it cost me nothing so i have 8000 to spend on this car as of right now. i originally planned on doing a 240 but this was a much better deal than any 240 for the price and condition. that is the end of this post but there will be many more to come. make sure to check back for pictures when they go up
