New here, curious if rotary swaps are allowed.
I got a mk2 supra for $500 recently, it runs ok, but needs injector seals at the very least, and isnt the original motor anyways, and I have been planning on swapping the motor and transmission since before I bought it, especially since the stock auto is kinda iffy, I was thinking about throwing a 302 in it, but I also am thinking it would be neat to put a rotary in it for the memes, I was wondering if I were to do that, what would I be looking at in cost, reliability, ease of install, transmission options, also how big are the engines, like in comparison to a 2jz or smth? Thanks.
I also feel like it's worth mentioning that, I am confident in my ability to tear down and rebuild a motor, as long as its not damaged beyond repair, so if there's a common failure to look for when looking for a donor car that is cheap to fix but labor intensive or smth, that would help, any other tips or recommendationz
Welcome to the forum. Rotary swaps are allowed here. Putting a rotary in a Supra may be a bit of a challenge, just simply due to the way they mount. Each generation RX-7 engine mounts differently and you will definitely have to fabricate everything. I wish you the best of luck in your swap, and should you chose a rotary, we will do our best to help guide you.

Welcome to the forum, rotary swaps are definitely allowed here... i mean we allow LS swaps.. LOL. No hate to those LS swapped 7's out there, just poking at you guys.
Best advice would be to see if there has been any rotary swapped supras out there already and pick their brain on what they did. You will have to do fabricating as i don't recollect seeing any kits specifically for the supra (i may be wrong).

The Supra is a heavier car, so you will need an engine that's able to more the car appropriately. And being a Supra, that car shouldn't be slow. If you are going with a rotary, and turbocharged 13B would give the car enough power and allow it to move along st a rapid pace. Now, you can build a hybrid 13B out of different year parts or just grab a 13B from an FD. The sky really is the limit...and also your wallet. Unless you wanted a 20B. But those will cost quite a bit more.
