New Guy with rotary powered street rod
Hi all,
We owned a new 93 blk/tan 5 spd. RX-7..unfortunately sold it around 2001 with around 10k orig miles..Man I wish I had that one back!
Building a street rod Rambler wagon with 13B single turbo rotary. I am hopeing to have it completed by SevenStock 2009?? Am I right in thinking that rotary powered "others" are ok to come on Sat?
Looking forward to be a part of this forum and cant wait to get that Rambler done so I can string her out...
Thanks,
Robert

Hey guys,
Have a question about trannys....
Does the turbo II trans bolt up to the FD rotary?
Has anyone done a T5 conversion to a FD motor?
I just want to make sure I get the right trans in my wagon that will hold up.
The motor is a FD 13b-rew..I cant use the stock trans because of the length..my wagon is very short. I have a 76 tranny but people have told me it will fail quickly behind the rew.
What tranny should I be looking for?
A guy local has a T5 adapter and TII bellhousing. ANy info on the adapters to bolt a T5? I presume if a TII trans bolts to the FD then the adapter should allow a T5 to go on.....
Here is a pic of my motor..again, its a FD 13b-rew running streetport and single turbo..I am figuring around 400 hp.
Thanks guys for helping a rotary beginner...

Heres a couple pics....Like I said its actually very short in length and weighs in around 2300 lbs. I heard you can move the shifter forward on the TII and that they do it to fit the small 70's rotary wagons and cars....

Do you just have the UIM (Upper Intake Manifold) off of the 13B-RE on your FD's 13B-REW or are you running a full 13B-RE?
This is probably the wrong place to ask a technical question however.
Try asking in this sub-forum: https://www.rx7club.com/old-school-other-rotary-63/ That is the "Other Rotary" powered cars section. They'll for sure know questions like the ones you've asked so far.

The motor is a 13b-rew from a US spec car. The intake is Cosmo. A guy was unloading it cheap so I picked it up. The stock twins would not fit in the car because of the frame rails so that was enough for me to go to a single turbo.
A 3 rotor would have been great but actually space is limited and the 2 rotor fit pretty good..I did end up changing the front end because the rotary was too close to the steering box..Rambler steering boxes really stick out into the engine compartment. Nothing fits into a Rambler easily..Once we have everything mocked up ( and the right trans ) we will pull it all out and detail the motor, engine compartment etc... Thanks for the positive input guys!

Hey thanks for the info and pics of your unique build. Please continue to provide pictures as you progress. Did you get around to posting your technical questions in a better suited sub-forum like I suggested? If so, do you have a link to the new thread so that I may follow your build? Thanks in advance.
I am actually building 2 Ramblers at the moment..the rotary wagon and a Quad 4 DOHC powered coupe..the coupe has taken most of my time lately but I do plan to get back into the wagon next month.
Thanks again
