new guy from MN!
Sup guys! How’s life in the states? I am currently deployed right now... over this last year I have a built up a good amount of parts for my 1987 FC. Bought it for 900 bucks back in November of 2011, not really knowing what I was getting. But I went for it!
I was told it had a blown eBay gt35r turbo, guy that sold it to me didn’t know much about the car at all.
From November to now I have bought some goodies for it...
XXR 521's 18x8.5 +25, 18x10 +25
Godspeed coils (cheap I know)
No-name eBay cat back
Suspension/stopping power
Front:
GP-Sports Angle kit w/ new inner Tie rods
JTP Knuckles
Re-Built Tii calipers
Hawk HPs pads
Slotted rotors
Stainless lines
Rear:
1-Tii axel (good) 1- that needs a re-build (Came with diff)
Battle version center camber link-
Battle version Toe-arms
Slotted rotors
Stainless lines
Pr-Mu Street Spec pads
A body kit (too bad it’s not a bomex or an invader kit! so rad! {Yes sarcasm})
And a welded diff.
well this last month got a little fan boyish and started looking up videos of 13b's with gt35's and I found something that looked very familiar, a video with a heading "rx7 running on one rotor".
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9pu-IYfBmD0
I saw the inter cooler and was like "wait a ******* second!" and then found this one
Then I had to figure out what the **** was going on so I had my brother pull the car out from the shed and start her up.... YUP! She was running like she had one nut.
So I started looking for a motor. Just trying to get my car out on the track this summer. the one thing i was lookin forward to when i got home from this sand box! (****** hates it here) found some from zerolift but I wanted to keep looking. I like finding good deals! So what does every other car guy do? Yup went to Craigslist! Found a couple built rx7s asked them if they would part the whole power plant... couple guys said no. 2 said yes. Asked a little bit more questions and one said he could fix it for me. At first I was sketched out. Emailed the guy for a couple weeks trying to figure out if I could trust this guy with my cash and my car...
Well the car went off to his place on Sunday. Monday night he had done a compression test and already had the motor out of the car. Found out the rear rotor was dead. Just dead as a door nail. Good piece of paper weight. I also have a damn good exhaust for the car. And that I have a 6 puck clutch. He had also ordered the new intercooler for the FMIC, pipes, BOV, and turbo rebuild kit.
