OK long-time fan, new owner

Ever since 1990, when, as a pre-teen, I found an article about the 'new 1986 rx7', I've liked rx7's.
It sounded awesome, innovative, unique; standing apart in a world of 'cylinders'.
I later found a full article on the 93, 3rd gen, with full illustrations of the rotary wonder, and, frankly, fell in love with the engine's design. I still have the poster, lol, grey/silver fd centerfold with engine components on the reverse.
I had a 1981 626 coupe for a while, but it was plagued with a bad engine, the result of a poor rebuild, it's engine blew, and I was forced to sell it. Wish I hadn't now, but that's hind-sight for ya, a rotary would've made that car a nice sleeper... It was the only FR I've had so far and actually 'drove', and I liked its 'feel', even though I couldn't explain why at the time.
I test-drove a 1st gen in 97, and loved it, but there was no way I could get it at the time.
In 98, I tried to get a 90 rx7, but the bank wouldn't finance it, due to age. I chose a 94 mx3 rs over a 93 eclipse, and have never regretted it.

Though I could go on about that mx3, which I still have, and the 92 gs, my current dd, the work I've done on both, my other mx3 projects, and jeeps, the Fieros I had, I feel that's not really relevant here, on rx7club.
...except to say I've some free-lance automotive electromechanical experience under my belt...

I recently, finally!, was able to buy an rx7!!!
87, base model, but with a lot of issues...

It won't start now, due to the fuel pump, but I got to drive it home, and I LOVED it.
I didn't know then ports 5 and 6 weren't working due to improper split-pipe deletion, but that just means it'll be that much better when its running right.

I wanna get this car on the road! But, there's a lot of work to do before that'll happen...

Thank you!
I also, very recently, acquired an 87 T2 shell for badly needed body parts (moonroof panel especially). It has no drivetrain and very little interior pieces, but has a lot of things mine needs.

Glad to hear you followed your passion for the RX7's and finally got one. Most of these cars are project cars but its a fun project to have and we are all proud of our cars.

Congrades on getting one, and welcome. I have been a long to fan also. I actually just picked up my first rx7, an 88 fc with the s5 motor n/a. I picked it up off my friend and I love the car. Too bad I do not know to much about these cars myself or I would try to help. I hope everything works out for you and you get her running asap. I know it must be killing you not being able to drive her.

Thank for the welcoming and encouragement!
Yes, it annoys me greatly she's not starting now, Hoping it's just the fuel pump or fuel pump wiring. Unfortunately, some other things are going on so it'll be a few days before I can test and troubleshoot.
