New guy here...
Glad to finally be on the forum. I just bought my first RX7, a 1990 model.
Interesting story though. My family used to own the town's Mazda dealership and my grandmother would always keep a new RX7 for a year or two before moving on to the next model. Well her last RX was a red convertible that I somehow talked her into letting me drive to my junior prom when I was 16. Years later she sold the car to a family friend and car collector with only 33,874 miles on it. For years I have begged him to allow it to come back into the family. My prom date, who is now my wife, and I were finally able to purchase the car a few days ago and roughly 30 years later it only has 35k miles.
There is minor maintenance required; some brake work, idle adjustment, fuel door cable, etc, but cosmetically it is as beautiful as the day my grandmother first drove it home. Being garaged it's entire life helps! Now I just have to name her...
