Hey I'm Matt. Looking at picking up an 87 RX7 Turbo and figured this was a good place to go to look up information, find parts, etc.

I've always had Nissan Z cars for the most part and was quite impressed with the car I checked out yesterday, so here I am.

 

Hey Matt, I'm Travis from Asheville, NC. I just visited Chattanooga last month. I'm a 6th grade teacher and took an over-night field trip with 200+ sixth graders there. That's a cool town, I liked it. We did the aquarium downtown, ate dinner on the river boat, and stayed the night at the Choo Choo inn. I'd like to go back there, except without all the 11-12 year olds.
So did you end up getting that 87' ? The RX7's are really cool cars. I have quite a bit of time in both a RX7 and a 300ZX. Similar, but the Mazda feels lighter in every way.

 

Yeah Chattanooga has dumped TONS of money in the past 4 to 5 years for tourism. That's on top of all the stuff that's been here for years, downtown has really transformed.

No I didn't end up getting it. He wouldn't budge at all on the price, though he wanted to go buy a ratty 240SX to 240SX-up. He didn't seem interested in dropping the price any to move it. Then I found out last night from showing the ad to an experienced RX7 guy that it isn't even a Turbo II, it's just an n/a with a turbo motor swap in it.

 

hmm, yeah ya might wanna stay away from that. What is your budget you are looking to spend on a car?

 

Im looking at multiple cars: dsms, sc300/400s, 3000gt, mustangs, etc around the 4k range.
