New Fc3s Owner from Orlando. I have a few questions if anyone can help
So I recently purchased my first running rx7 for 1200. It's a 1989 GTU from what the owner told me. I bought one two years ago when i was 18 but the owner screwed me over, the engine had almost no compression.
So far I've had to buy the stock rims because it came with 18's and it was pretty rough to drive, mainly because it had low profiles that were bald
My fuel line from the filter to the injectors blew so i replaced that
I replaced my spark plugs, this is where my first question appears. when i changed my spark plugs i noticed alot of oil on them, is that normal? i know oil is injected into the engine but would it cover the spark plugs like that? and when i put the new ones in they had oil on them as soon as i stuck them in. Problem??
Another thing, this is also my first manual car. I've had nobody to teach me about driving manuals or about rotaries or cars in general, i've kinda just been learning by trial and error, my clutch releases really high, is that normal for these cars? or is my clutch going out? i literally have to press the gas as soon as i let off the clutch or it stalls out.
My exhaust is unique, i have two pipes that go from the exhaust ports strait to the mufflers, which are gutted. I also have no cat on the car. If i just replace the mufflers would it be a good set up? or should i get the y pipe?
I don't need a cat because my car produces alot of blue/white smoke at 5k, I'm not racing it by any means i just read that redlining it once a week is healthy and thats how i noticed the smoke. it smells like oil or fuel. i believe i read that blue smoke is oil, but my cousin, who has no rotary knowledge, told me my car is definetly running too rich because of the fuel smell while i'm driving it. but the previous owner told me he rebuilt the motor 60,000 miles ago.
thanks for reading and any help will be very much appreciated, this has been my favorite car since i was a child and i'm so happy to finally be able to drive one!
