Hello,my name is Adam. I own a Eunos Cosmo -92 13B-RE.
I bought it in 2010 and haven't done hardly anything on it since then.
My plan is to rebuild the engine and make a BPU upgrade (not for power, but for reliability) and get it on the street.
After that I maybe will single convert it with a small turbo for 380-400 rwhp
I will make a thread about the progress and share some pictures.

Does someone know if the turbo is the same as in the 20B? And is it bigger or smaller than on the fd3s?

You lucky dog, that is a fine example of a JC Cosmo. It's not every day that you find a JC Cosmo. Just out of curiosity, what is the chassis number? I'd like to run a build sheet on it to see what it originally came equipped with.
As for the turbos:
13B Turbo FC3S: HT-18-2S
13B-REW Cosmo: HT-10 front and rear
13B-REW FD3S: HT-12 front and rear
20B-REW Cosmo: HT-15 front and HT-10 rear.
The 13B Cosmo has the smallest turbos of the three, only sharing the rear turbo with the 20B version. I believe it was arranged like this because the Cosmo is a rather heavy car at around 3300 lbs (13B Type E) and it took some effort to get it up to speed, so the turbos had to spool up quickly. As for the 20B Cosmo, it is even heavier and despite its automatic transmission handicap, it is as fast as a WRX...
Hitting full boost (0.7 bar or 10 psi) at 1800rpm really shows how brutally powerful a 3-rotor is

A few things have happened since last time.
The engine is out of the car and has gone for a rebuild.
Few things on the spec-list:
*small/mild streetport
*4 oversize studs
*port intake
*2 mm super seals
*Balancing
For now the plans are to keep things around the engine stock.
Hopefully I will build a singleturbo-kit next year
Then disassembly the engine we found that the frontplate/frontiron was broken(therefor the loss of compression)
So now I am looking for a frontplate for a -92 Cosmo. It is NOT the same as an FC or a FD as I know. I think the 20B has the some one.
Does someone want to sell me one?

How bad is the damage to the front iron? Pictures would speak volumes here and assist in guiding you to the best solution to fit your needs. Kinda sucks to replace an iron on a numbers-matching engine, but such is life.
As for sourcing a replacement, they can be purchased new from Mazdatrix for $540 here: Cart Price Check Part:10-C00B-N390. If you're looking for a less pricey option, I'd suggest taking a look in the Classifieds or asking one of our forum vendors whom regularly deal with 13B-RE's such as Banzai Racing.
Last, this is a bit out of my area of expertise, but I think you may not need to have the intake ports modified. I have heard from a few knowledgeable people that the 13B-RE & 20B's intake ports are the largest of all rotaries. As always, I recommend verifying this with one whom is more knowledgeable than I so you make the best choice for your specific power needs. Aaron Cake, J9FD3S and Banzai Racing are all very knowledgeable and experienced with the more prominent iterations.

Adam, I just checked the JC Cosmo's Parts Catalog and the 13B-RE's front iron is N390-10-C00B. The 20B front iron (NF01-10-C00B) is different as it has several tension bolts run through from the front to secure it and the front rotor housing to the thick middle iron as well as a few long tension bolts that are installed from the rear iron that run through the entire shortblock like on a 13B. In this manner, the thick middle iron acts like both a middle and front iron. In contrast, the normal middle and rear irons are the same between 13B and 20B Cosmo engines IIRC.

What you sent to me in the PM seems to be accurate, but as you can see my car is repainted and I have a manual gearbox from a FC.
I will start a thread in "wanted"-section but I need 10 posts first
So hopefully I will find something there or I can find someone here in sweden who wants to sell me a front cover.
But I will buy some things from Mazdatrix so if I can't find one take it for there.
He who is rebuilding my engine is very familiar with the FD-engine and he says that there is a big difference in the ports.

Here is the Cosmo right after the engine was taken out of the car in the Swedish landscape
When I was about to take the engine to the rebuilder.
The engine had no compression and this is what he'd found, so thats why I need a new front iron.
This was before I started to take the car apart.
Notice the headlights, they are from a mazda 626 -92(I think).
It's a shame!

Nice car.. I have a 92 JC cosmo with a 13B also. At the petrol station the most common question is.. "is it a 20B?" unfortunately not, but still goes reasonably well and has been my daily driver for the past 4 years.
Do you have any intentions of converting it to manual? It would be really nice and it seems to be popular but I can't bring myself to butcher such a rare car.
