New To The Club - Intro
Hello, my name is Frank. I've had my 84 RX-7 since 1987 when I bought it from a gentleman that sold it to me because his family had grown in size and he could no longer enjoy it like he should (at least that is what he stated to me). I've maintained it pretty good up until my family started to grow (in time, I finally understood what the seller meant) but I refuse to give it up. . .in fact, my first marriage went. . .but not my RX-7!
Anyway, I am anxious and look forward to getting my hands dirty as I start working on getting my RX back on the road. . .with the help of members in this forum who hold a wealth of knowledge. Heck, I haven't started it since 2007 (what a shame)!
But as I have already seen/read some of the threads, I will enjoy reading about the experiences others have had and learn from them, and in time, have her back on the road! Hope to contribute at some point, but for now, I'm ok with being a newbie!

I Do & I Don't!
Hey Kent - I do and I don't. . .I have some pics from years ago that I need to find in order to post, OR I get my behind and uncover my car and snap away then post those. In any event, with having to move from state to state, setting the house up is taking a bit more than I want it to. . .which includes my workspace. I hope to get to it (setting up shop) when the kids are out of school. . .keeps them busy moving things around for me! Then I should be able to snap a few. :o)

Fredericksburg. . .there is a garage here I found that had a few 7's in their lot that prompted me to to talk to the guys there. They worked on the ones (3 of them) they had on the lot and then sell them. I don't know their rep so I can't say more about them since I only spoke to them that one time. But it sounds like they know how to get them running again. Next time I'm around them, I'll get their biz card/number for more info.

Posted 2 pics today. Made time to assess what I need to do to get her started again and also snapped a few pics. I was pleasantly surprised that the overall exterior condition was (still) in great shape! Paint job is definitely needed but I already had that in mind before today. Thank God for car covers right? (when garage is too full to park in).
Anyway, I think I need a new fuel pump. . .last time I tried to start her, it would not fire up unless I poured a bit of fuel down the carb. But FIRST, need to ensure the rotors are not frozen since it she hasn't been turned in 5 years!

It's funny that you say "keep it in the family". . .cause that's exactly what I did when USAF sent me to Korea for a year. Sold it to my brother under the condition that he sell it back to me when he's done with it. Well, he sold it back to me with alright. . .with a jacked-up rotor!

Lurking, reading, learning since 2007.
Don't own an RX-7 (have an RX-8, a Speed6, and a Protege), but love anything with spinning rotors as propulsion. The occasional weekend autocrosser and working in the auto industry as an analyst.
Didn't have much to contribute as the site is already chock full of useful info and redundant ones too, so I didn't have any need to post, but recently, I wanted to help out a member in the troubleshooting section who was having hot start issues, but it wouldn't let me post.
I thought that was lame, so here I am, upping my post count.
IMHO, I think using membership duration coupled with page views is better than post count for weeding out unwanted posts.
