hello im new to this website i have had my 86 mazda rx7 gxl non turbo since about november. note it is my first car ever being that im only twenty. when i bought the car it wasnt running, i had to fix a fuel line and replace the master and slave cylinders for the clutch to finally have it running right. i still havent passed smog but i have made huge improvements. at first it was just the emissions that didnt pass but when i just recently went to try and smog it i was told that the only thing wrong with it now is the EGR valve. I cant find a egr valve from that car anywhere, and im not sure that a turbo version would work on it. like i said im pretty new when it comes to cars so any advice would be great. thanks!

 

Welcome to the site. The new member and 2nd gen technical sections should prove to have a lot of the answers you're looking for.

The EGR valve is located underneath the upper intake manifold (UIM). A turbo version will work, but you may have to cut the little heatshield off of it. The flange and functionality are the same. Good luck.
