New 84 GSL owner
I have just purchased an 84 GSL, I am the third owner. It was silver, but was repainted Camaro Inferno Red. It looks sharp!
Anyhow, it did not run when I got it. I was told it needed a new fuel pump, and a new Carter high pressure pump and filter was supplied with the car. When I installed it, it came on and seemed to operate normally, although a bit loud. The car would still not start, it does not seem to be drawing any fuel. I put 5 gallons in to bring the guage up to 1/4 full. I checked for and have spark.
What should my next step be? Drop the the tank and see if it is full of crud or gummed up? Replace fuel lines? Try another fuel pump? Is there a way to pressurize the fuel system? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I would really like to do most if not all the work myself, just being part of the experience.
