Needing a lil RX love.
Needing a lil RX love.
Hey guys my name is Chris.
I'm a noob to this forum but live on other car forums. I'm mainly a Mitsubishi fan but love Toyota's. To an extent Subaru's too I guess. I have a 89 hx35 powered Starquest (Mitsu Starion/Chrysler Conquest), a 91 3000gt vr4 (soon to be 3.8 stroked) A 96 Mitsu GSX (2.3 stroked hx35 powered and alot of other supporting mods), a 2013 Scion FR-S, and trying to get a 2jz swapped 95 GS300.
As you can see I have a crap ton of projects but I joined this site for the Starion. I blew the stock trans, which aren't that strong to be honest. I found out through this site...
:: Project Zero G :: - RX7 Transmissions
That I can the RX7 transmissions to bolt up easily to the g54b block with the b2600 bellhousing. The problem I ran into was the tailshaft housing. The tailshaft housing is about five to six inches to far back for the stock Starion location. Then I came across this beautiful gem of a thread on you kind peoples wonderful forum...

So now I plan on picking up a transmission that already has the needed bellhousing and start cutting. The one thing I did wonder though is how hard it would be to find a b2600 tailshaft housing and just put that on instead. I'm going to start calling around to the different yards and see if I can have one sent to me, other wise I'm going to do the above mod.
Thanks guys for your info.
PS
I've always loved and wanted a FD. Those cars are just beautiful. I'm just so used to pistons I'd be lost on a rotary. Plus, my God these things are expensive. I can get three great low milage VR4's for the price of one FD
K, I'm done. Thanks again guys for the information. I'll try not to annoy anyone since I'm not on my own turf.
