Nearly bought a Rotary a few times, Finally got one!!

I have always been a fan of the Rotary, but always got put off from the numerous stories of them being unreliable

BUT.......

A friend of mine who has been trying to get me into the Rotary scene for awhile now, got me a deal I couldn't pass up.

1993 RX-7

The good:
Body is straight
Interior is complete

The bad:
RED (not a big fan)
Auto-tragic transmission
Funky chrome 16" wheels
Needs a paint refresh
Engine does not start

Price: $1200.00

This gives me a nice clean canvas to build it into what I want it to be.
I am originally from the Honda Camp, so building Projects are not foreign to me.

Wish me luck!!

Quick Update.

Changed out plugs and a new battery, and guess what ..... the car started up on the first try.

The down side is that after a few minutes, smoke was coming from the turbo area. I think it is leaking oil and smoking. So I guess a turbo upgrade is in order

I am just happy that is starts and runs after being stored for over 3 years by the previous owner.

I know!

I will start to work on it sometime in the new year.

My plans will be to do a GT35R single turbo upgrade, and keep the automatic transmission until it is back up and running reliably. Freshen up the seats, and general stuff.

Then the fun will begin.
