NC newbie - just dabbling
Hi Folks! I just found this site and it has all the indications of a great one! I don't have an Rx-7 (yet) but I'm attracted by the light weight, rwd design. I've owned a Mazdaspeed Protege (amazing grip, but still fwd dynamics) and a 1990 Miata (289k miles).
Also, to be fair, I'm BIG on time and work investments into my 'fun cars' , but I can't afford to spend a whole lot of money at any one time.
I do have a modern daily driver (The Mazdaspeed was that, but family needs forced a quick sale) - so my "fun cars" have been a series of small, lightweight RWD units. The miata, a 240z, a couple Datsun 510's, and currently a (seized engine) 1969 Datsun roadster.
Rotary power fascinates me. Period. I fully expect I will have a rotary car at some point. The light weight and smooth, high-rpm power is enough to sell me. Fuel mpg, and long-term durability (I believe-but don't KNOW) are weak points that would be unimportant in a "fun car" that wouldn't accumulate lots of miles.
I look forward to learning more - thanks for having me -josh

Josh,
I currently own a '99 Miata and had a '71 240Z in my younger years. Nothing like a RWD sports car.
I also have always been intrigued by the rotary engine, and now I have one for my own. I hope you get a chance to enjoy owning one yourself.
