just inherited a 1986 mazda RX-7 turbo II just got it into my driveway...
bit of a story behind this car but we will get into that later....
the car has not been running in 2 yrs... turns over nicely ..... but the fuel pump is pooched... been reading alot on this site today hoping for some pics of things... found what i needed to figure out .. the pump is shot..

Damn, Im new to rotaries, but 290 seems like alot for a fuel pump. I know I got my Walbro 255 for the 240 for less than that

Just realized how many "200" numbers I put in that last post. Gave me a chuckle. Yes, a chuckle.

Make sure you get the proper fuel pump. Not every FC pump will be sufficient despite the fact that they will all fit.

NA vs TII pumps are different.

Are you sure of the year ? Because I didn't think that they made the TII until 87. It could just be a TII transplant like I am hoping to do with mine.

Mine did that all the time when it was cranked cold, i believe it just does that, if it doesnt go away after 5 minutes or so of runnin it maybe be a vacuum leak

the idle evens out after a few min... after it warms up... no real issues with it now!! wow is it quick and i love how i can hear the turbo!!! likes to get loose in the rear end!!! love this thing!!! the oil pressue gauge seems to read low and the boost gauge stays at rest until u get your foot into it... but those small probs i will take as old age...

I inherited an 86 also, parents didnt want to maintain it anymore, and it wasnt being driven enough.

Yours should be an 87, like it was said above, there werent any turbos in 86.
