Hey everybody my name is Quillan, I'm 19 and I recently purchased my 1982 Mazda RX-7. I've been wanting to get a car that can be a project for me over time but something that I can still drive. I found this car on Craigslist in Lawrence, KS (I live in Topeka, KS) so I went and checked it out and made a deal. The guy wanted $600 for the car but I talked him into $400 which is a pretty good steal considering I could part it out for quiet a bit more than that. On my first day of having the car, I pulled the carpet out of the back half along with the two storage bins, and cleaned out the hornets nests. WOW when I saw that I was hoping nothing was going to get me. But nothing did so I kept cleaning and cleaning. I got the front half carpet looking almost as good as I could get it. I purchased the carpet the day I took the car home so hopefully here soon I will recieve it to put it in. I have the car in a shop right now, they took out my gas tank and drained the "bad gas" out of the car. They said the gas in it was terrible (which I already knew by the smell) and everything needed to be cleaned out. I also got the clutch master cylinder replaced, I had to pump the clutch just to get it started. Now, once I get my car back (hopefully Wednesday sometime) I need to get my carburator checked out, the place that it's at now can't do it. I may just end up rebuilding it myself with a kit from Autozone. I may need some help with that though, so if anyone will be able to help me out with that, give me your email or phone # because I may need a partner on this one. I may be young but I'm not afraid to go in and do things myself. After one day of being with my car, I'm already in love with the RX-7 and the rotary motor. Can't wait to learn more about rotarys all while making new friends here at rx7club! Thanks!
