WA My introduction

Not really sure how long I have been lurking around just reading things, but I thought I would take a moment to introduce myself. Currently I don't have an RX7, but hopefully that will change someday.

I do run another Mazda and at the track I always seem to find myself talking with the rotary guys. I even found myself lined up next to one you guys yesterday at Pacific Raceways. Talked with the owner a bit and he mentioned this site, so it got me thinking that I should actually start posting a bit here.

Hopefully I will be borrowing some knowledge and using some RX7 parts to make my current ride a bit better.

I almost forgot, I currently drive a Miata. I'm in the process of building it up to be a much faster car than it currently is. Hopefully I'll find some carryover parts that I can use on it from the RX7. Here's a picture from a few weeks ago. Sunday was the last day of driving it for the season, so the build will start shortly.

I am looking for a rear end setup that will handle the abuse of drag racing. I know I can swap a few things back and forth, but I'm really curious about what you guys do when you upgrade.

Your Miata looks great! Lots of options available for the Miata out there for performance parts that we carry and other vendors as well.

It's a custom tubular setup, here's a picture of it.

Nice looking manifold,

What kind of power are you getting? At about 27 psi we were making 493 at the wheels and 390 torque in a BP powered protege.

We haven't ran the car for a while at the drag strip though, it is pretty hard on gearboxes.

Right now everything is installed on the stock block to make sure it all would fit and so I could play around with the tuning software. At 10 psi it is right at 270 rwhp. That turbo isn't very happy running such low boost either, I can't wait to turn it up. I'm finishing up the built motor and should be dropping it in the car in the next couple of months. For the streets, I expect to be over 400 at the wheels with pump gas at around 20 psi. On race gas, I will take it up to 500 for the track.
