I just purchased my first ever wankle last night! I've been obsessed with them for as long as I can remember and I finally got a chance to buy my dream car. It's a 1987 FC tii. It's beautiful. 67,000 miles and compression was just above 60. No smoke.

The bad.
It needs an alternator and maf. And an air filter that isn't from autozone. Maybe you guys can guide me in the right place?

I plan on fixing it up to be reliable. First major mod will probably be a FMIC or v-mount and getting rid of the gay home mad exhaust. It isn't made of stainless and sounds like poo due to no resonator.

Any tips, please let me know! I'm so excited!!!

Thats a sweet car. I just got an rx7 as well. I too have wanted one as long as I can remember. Mine is a red first gen. I found lots of parts at racingbeat.com. You might find an exhaust you like there.

Thanks! I've done more research. I ordered an Apex'i intake/filter and a new (used) alternator/battery wiring harness. The wiring harnesses in the engine bay is hacked on this car. I want to keep the car clean so replacing them is a must. Friday I might order a replacement engine harness and a Greddy RS bov kit. Not a fan of the HKS that is hacked onto the charge pipe now.

Near future plans will be exhaust and corksport fmic. It keeps it behind the bumper so there is no hacking involved.

I also have the S5 bumpers and trim. They will probably sit in my garage until one day when I paint the car. For now its just cleaning the car up a bit. Keep the outside and the turbo/tune OG.

BTW- I hate the mirrors on it so if anyone wants to trade for the ones without the holes in it, let me know.

Nah. I kind of like the tails my car came with. Same thing with the pop ups. I love them as it is.

I have no idea. The hood is actually made out of aluminum! Keep it on the DL though. Some ricer kid is going to be like "Whoa!!!???" and polish his hood. lol

If you're serious... it was Felix Wankel; hence the use of wankel all over the forum.

Complicated? This is why I love my roto. It's just cool. I'm sure that's why most people on this site got one too.
