MA My 12a Rotary engine

Hi All,

My name is Sam and I just picked up a 12a rotary engine from a guy I met who just had it sitting in his garage. what's better then free! anyway I'm new to rotary engines but my dad owned an rx2 back in the day and I have always thought they were cool. anyway I'm sure I'll have lots of questions so that's why I joined the RX club.

Nice find. I hope it develops into something mobile!

I'm looking forward to seeing some photos of this project. Cool looking little cars. Are you using a mazda transmission as well?

Garyrotor79,

that is the plan, (unless you know of an alternative) the RB T-5 conversion is pretty expensive, I'd actually like to use a trans from the 2nd gen rx7 because of the taller gear ratios, do you know what would have to be done to get the 2nd gen trans to pair with a 12a? or does it just "plug 'n play"? is there a good write up anywhere about transmission compatibility?

I'd be happy to post some pics of the project. is it appropriate to do that here or should I start a project thread?

I'm not sure of the differences myself and am also new to this forum to point you in the right direction to find answers. I think you can post photos here but you could also start a new thread and title it something that would attract members to come look at the progress of your project.
