Miata guy thinking of buying a 7

Hi guys, my name is Adam and i'm from miata.net. I'v recently been thinking about adding adding an rx-7 to my collection. I have already had 2 miata's a 92 and a 94 and now I want to see what the big fuss is all about with the rx7.
I can't afford a FD or RX8 right now but I'm willing to spend up to $3.000 on a FB or FC.
It has to be reliable enough to get me to work and back only 10 miles.
I'm not looking for a rocket ship thats what my turbo Miata is for. I just want to experience what a wankle rotary engine is like to drive and own (never driven one)

I like the looks of the FB a bit better than the FC but which one is the most reliable as a dd car?
I wouldn't want to have a Turbo if they effect reliability.
Is the 1st gen more reliable than the 2nd Turbo?

A turbo affects the reliability of any car negatively. With your budget, I'd suggest going with a GSL-SE. There are no reliability problems with n/a rotaries, but all rotaries require meticulous upkeep. Do as much research as you can, if you're actually concerned with dependability. Though with 2 other cars in the driveway, I find it hard to believe you wouldn't be able to live without the 7 for a few days.

One of the miatas that I have is a parts car now and the my wife uses my turbo miata to get to work and back.
We both work within two miles of where we live so I'm actually considering buying Suzuki samurai or a street legal dune buggy if the Rx7 thing dose not work out.
