me and my 91 vert starting the journey

allright i quess i'll go ahead and do the newbie thread on me and my car. oh and i'm the worst speller but im sure its not a big deal just bear with me.
it started with guy i use to work with offered up the car by asking me if i liked mazdas. i said well depends on what make and he goes on to tell me he's got a 91 covertable with under 100k and a\c works. he wants 2500. i sounded good but i knew nothing about these accept some had turbos and the fd's looked so dam cool. anyways did some research and decided to buy the car just to flip for a profit. i thought i could get at least 3500 with the top and the seats being ripped up. 6 months and a few price drops later i felt i would rather keep it.

my first goal is to get the top redone so i can enjoy it and put it over 100k.
i ordered the top from the convertabletopguys.com and got started. i put in 11 hrs getting the old top off and getting the window frame clean and reinstaled with all the belts and rivets and all. next i installed the new insulater strip that goes on top of the rivets and the new pads. pulled the new top over each corner until i busted some stiches at one of the corners. got that fixed yesterday and got the top streched over the car. i put the old metal plate at the rear in the new top taped and bolted it down. i didn't bolt the front portion down yet cause i feel it will be were i pull most of the wrinkels out besides later when i cut out for the window.

when all thats done i plan on doing the re-doing the seats and carpet, then some wheels. i like the stock 15" BBS but i think 18" with about that same look will look the best. i'll do some things to the motor later but the car is more of a crusier being more heavy vert and a non turbo. but i will let that motor breath. anyway i'll try to get some pic up but its the dark blue 91 vert s5 w\5spd trans that everyone has seen. i also plan on showing up at the rx7 club of houston october meet.
see you around
