VA Maybe second impressions are better anyways.

Hi everyone, I'm not new here but my first introduction post was deleted for some reason. I've tried to sell a few things including my first car, but all my posts keep getting deleted because of an unknown reason. If I'm doing something wrong, please send me a PM or something! I'm not here to cause trouble. I really would love the site if I could actually get enough posts to use it and be a useful part of the community..

A little background, my primary vehicle is a 2009 WRX, I love it and Subaru's are awesome.

It makes a great parts hauler for my junk cars that I fix myself.. I'm part of a little site 3gwrx.com, I've been running a photo contest there for a bit. Honestly though, I love cars in general so I'm not trying to come rain on your parade or anything like that. I also have an 89 MR2 which is probably my favorite of all my cars, and it's just a stripped chassis.. Cheap junk.

I'm really big into RallyCar(previously Rally America) and their rallycross series. My goal is to eventually build the MR2 for rallycross. I love the RX7 and it's just as fun to drive as the WRX even though mine is N/A. Nothing is like a rotary engine!

Earlier this summer I bought a 1986 base model RX7 for next to nothing:

I bought it with a bad coolant seal, limped it home, and rebuilt it in my basement using an Atkin's rebuild kit. I have to say they sent everything I needed and it went great! I'm really glad they help keep the rotary alive! Will buy from them again. (This week actually.)

I bridgeported that motor so it had a nice brap, running on the factory ECU too. It didn't have powersteering, ac, emissions, or a map sensor so it handled it pretty well.

It was fun, but kinda junky. The interior was missing a lot of pieces and the paint was starting to peel badly. I found a 91 N/A on craigslist with the bad coolant seal so I practically gave my 86 away with a freshly build motor so I could buy the 91 and rebuild it. Limped that one home too.

In the past week I've pulled the motor and and am cleaning and measuring everything this week. It needs a new front iron. Does anyone know if when the coolant seal goes, is this always the case? Hopefully I can get it back together within a month!

So yeah, really hoping this time I can actually get in the club.

You NEED to READ the stickied threads in this forum with the RULES. Read them carefully and follow the rules.

Do not post ***** to try and bump your post count.
This is not a forum where you can skirt the rules to sell stuff. This is also not a forum where we tolerate thieves or scammers. Follow the rules and you'll be alright. Don't and you'll be banned quickly. Scam anyone and we'll chase you down. We've done it before.

I understand. There are good people in this world, not here to hurt anyone. It would have been nice if someone would have told me that's why my posts were being deleted. I should have read the rules first, my fault. I understand why the short posts were deleted, not my introduction thread though. I'll be more in depth with my posts, I'm not just trying to abuse or scam anyone. I honestly really like RX7s, that's why I've bought two in the past couple months! I ended up selling my red one for $2200, and with a rebuilt motor that's a pretty good deal, not a scam.

Thanks for responding!

Welcome, I'm new here too, I'm also currently living in N.VA, near springfield. Nice WRX, one of my cars is an Subie Outback, it's been a good car. Nice find with the 91, looking foward to seeing more.

Welcome.

Nice collection and that 91's paint looks great.

As for the irons being useless after a coolant seal, yes if it was a bad coolant seal death it will blow through the iron. Invest in a rotary rebuild DVD if you already havent ( recomend mazdatrix).

I'm in the Roanoke area. Yeah I love my Subie! It's been a great parts hauler. Hopefully I can find a front iron soon so I can get the rx7 back together. You should come to the Pence Subaru meet October 1st with your Outback! If I have the rx7 done in time I might bring it to show my flat4va friends.

Polak, there are worse addictions. Already rebuilt the 86 using the Atkins DVD and Mazda manual. Hopefully I don't run into any issues with S5 vs S4.
