ok guys ive gotten heaps of info from this site over the years and im finally creating an account.
first rotary was a 88'gxl
88'gxl
was short lived was young and new to all this
then i saved a little with insurance money and got this 10th anniversary
thats gone through quite a bit of phases in the 3 years ive owned it
when i first brought her home 88/turbo2
first phase bringing her home
second phase painting her back to all white
second phase painting it all white
then hell happened and someone back into my car in the street and thats when things started really going downhill fast
88 10th anniversary
the horror right when it was starting to look good
but i didnt quit
back to looking halfway decent again
then turbo stuff started breaking
right after more low but before blow
then i got an rx8 for some reason did stuff to it lower/exhaust/wheels/alarm/system it was supposed to be a fun comfy daily and then i blew the motor
then the motor in the 10ae blew and i pinched my pennies for a new motor i ended up buying a half bridge short block from a buddy and saved for for supporting mods.walboro fuel pump/ greddy fmic /1680 secondary and 560 primary/ apexi pfc ecu /bnr stage 4 hybrid turbo etc etc. i pulled the old motor and put the short block in painted the engine bay etc.etc. got every thing together and couldnt get it to start worth a damn i could pull start it but it would fall on its face below 5k. ended up taking it to rotary performance thinking it was a bad basemap. turns out this"new" motor had 0 compression on two faces of the first rotor.so i had them take it apart in hopes it was a stuck seal from sitting for so long.turns out there was hell in that motor grooved and warped housings and irons.but in good news it had s5 turbo rotors and a nice act clutch and racing beat flywheel so that was a score...in a way.determined on that car not coming back unless i was driving it i grabbed my old motor as wheel as any housings and irons i had around. ended up with a motor with s5 rotors and na housing with the sleeves in lol and a new center iron. with everything said and done i spent a pretty penny but she finally came home to me after 11 months of me saving working and her out of commision
she was wating for me
so the car makes about 250 rwhp on 7lbs of boost "im rounding up" my exhaust is still kind of stock so that limits my torque band and i don't have a boost controller to raise it up those are coming next
how the car looks as of nowish
stock bumper on
thanks for reading ill be around
