Long time listener, first time caller...

Hello, all. I've been using this forum for technical advice, ideas, and general interest for quite some time now, but this is my first day to ever post. I've had my '83 12A LE for twelve or thirteen years and I'm finally getting to where I want to do some work to it myself. After having it for about six years I had some typical upgrades performed (RB header and exhaust, Holley carb, highrise intake, and a full engine rebuild), but I did none myself, and learned nothing from the upgrading experience. I had a faster car, but didn't really know why or how the components made it faster.

A couple years later I bought a naked streetbike that could put down numbers better than a car in the six-figure range, and also purchased an SUV, while the 7 sat in a carport...waiting. Well, the bike finally bit me in my *** a year ago, and hard. It was totalled (so was I) and subsequently paid for itself, and my wife and I did away with the SUV and its note in favor of her paid-for Grand-AM and my *you guessed it* wonderful RX-7.

I never lost love for the car or the rotary. I appreciate driving it now more than I used to because I understand it a lot more. I'm still no expert, but with the help of this forum and more hands-on experience, I'll better myself and the car.

I look forward to becoming a contributing member of this forum.
