AR A little about myself.

Hello, my name is Jay Harrod. I live in Arkansas. Back years ago, My wife was given a brand new 1985 Mazda RX7 for her 16th birthday. Well, I bought a RX7 as a project car to completly restore. I'm wanting to do this for my amazing wire. Also, me myself is brand new to the RX7 world and very excited to have this opputunity to learn about the RX7. Thank you all.

Welcome to the forum!! You picked a good one in a GSL-SE! The SE is an amazing car and your wife will love it! Are you planning on restoring it before giving her the car?

Rx7 restoration.

No, she’ll probably be helping me restore it. She’s actually the one that found it and helped me pick it up. I know one thing, it has a lot of salt damage and going to take a lot of $$$ to get it right.

It should be a fun project to restore with her! These cars are very prone to rusting, especially if this was a northern car at one point in its life.

Yes, you are correct. It does have a ton of rust. Having to do a lot of patching. Having to do a lot of brazing on the fuel tank cause I can’t afford a new one right now.
