Let's try this again...HI Guys From Washington
Hello,
Name is Peter. I live in Seattle, WA (well, technically outskirts but it's all the same) and I have an arctic silver '88 GTU that I plan on converting to a T2.
Forum member dwb87 happened to be driving by my mom's neighborhood in his S4 T2 (also arctic silver) and I instinctively yelled at him (lol). Said that I should get on here so yup.
Anyway, I've had the car for about 2 years now and just this past year it has aged to emissions exemption (damn, Washington) -- meaning I can start moving forward on project ideas.
The majority of the time I spent on the car has been to restore some functionality to it. Like every other Rx7 out there, mine shares the common problems: cracked solder joints for the clock, malfunctioning windshield wiper switch, cold start issues, that 3800 RPM hesitation, and the stock radio with equalizer (HELL YES) that keeps resetting.
Hoping to regular this forum a bit more as a contributor rather than just a viewer.
Thanks for looking!
-Peter

I know that Astoria has a classic car ride in the summer. It's so wet up there though, I don't know how much they have going on otherwise. There is a fairly decent motorcycle group (non gang affiliated!) that cruises up there too. The towns are too small to really have a very big scene. A lot of older folks too. Long Beach is pretty much a tourist town with some cranberry fields and Astoria is pretty much all on a hill. They are nice quaint little towns to visit.

Welcome to the forum Peter!
As Peter said, I was driving by and he yelled to me... I stopped. We got to talking and come to find out, he has an FC, too! That was a pretty cool and random way of meeting another RX-7 owner.
Peter and I have been helping forum member 'struggles' in the rebuild of his FD. We've all put in many hours so far and hope to have it running soon. Peter has been a pretty big help with removing the engine and associated parts for the rebuild. Thanks for all of the help so far Peter!
You'll be a great addition to the forum.

I live across the border from you guys in Vancouver Canada and we see much more FCs around. Never see a FD around though. Those are much more rare than my garage queen (i own a 94 acura nsx). xD Welcome to rx7, I just bought myself a FC s5 NA as a project car. Very Excited!!
I wouldn't mind owning an FD though, haha. The gunmetal/charcoal ones look amazing.

Welcome! I'm also from WA, right now I am in Tacoma, but will be up in Kirkland come August! We do a monthly meet down in Olympia, but a few of us cruised down last time! 4 FC's all on I5, it was fun. Check it out in the NW forum section.
That's one of my favorite things about owning a rarely seen car. when I had my rx7's I was flagged down several times by other 7 owners just to talk, which I never minded doing. Always great to meet others with similar car interests. I'm in Portland by the way.

brought an FC from Sacramento with me, im from Seatac ^_^
