TX Let the fun begin!

Hey everyone! I'm Ryan. I just bought 2 88 RX-7 convertibles from someone and I figured the best thing to do, was come here. I also own an 09 RX-8. I have never really worked on a car other than the usual maintenance, and I figured it was high time to jump into something insane. One of the RXs has a bad transmission, the other has a bad motor. I plan on making a good one out of the two. Then for the added fun, I will be trying to rebuild the engine and possibly the transmission. This is going to be a mind blowing experience that only a rotary engine can provide!
Unfortunately the pictures I have are the ones the guy posted. The white one has tires now. So it's at least complete-ish. More pics to come when I get the chance! Figured I'd throw in a pic of the RX-8 also.

Welcome! Nice Rx8 you have there

Good luck on the vert projects! Tons of info on this site that I am sure you will find useful. Quick tip: 88 Verts came with 3.9 rear ends while 89+ came with 4.1 rear ends. I myself swapped the diff out on my 88 for the 4.1 and it pepped it up a little bit.

Thanks. Only issue I have with the 8 is that I got an auto. Didn't know how to drive stick at the time, and I expected a butt ton of traffic. I still love it though, and I don't plan on ever getting rid of it.
Thanks for the info. I will keep that in mind. This is going to take me some time to work on. So I will definitely be here a bunch.

Like your 8, looks well maintained. Time for some rims maybe to set her apart?

Good luck on the 7 build

Well the deal for the RX-7s fell through. Turns out the guy doesn't legally have the right to sell one of them. Long story. I don't just want the one either. Oh well. Such is life. Nor do I want to deal with this anymore. It's getting ridiculous. One day though, one day.

I am very touchy about the RX-8. I love it and do my best to keep it pretty. As for the rims, I will wait till I have it paid off before I do anything to it. I don't like dropping money into anything I don't own outright.
