just got my 93 FD !!
wutsup guys.. my names dylan and im 20 years old i live in westchester new york. the FD has been my dream car since i saw one at a local car show when i was 10. ive been a union ironworker for 2 years now and i got bumped up from apprentice to full pay so i decided what better way to congratulate myself than buying an FD. anyways i got a steal on the car, i think, for $9,000. it has 120,000 miles on it.. the engine has 60,000. the previous owner didnt want to deal with the small problems and noises it was making so i happily took it off his hands. there is a ridiculous amount of zip ties holding every aspect of the car together so i started cleaning things up right way. i ripped out the power steering and AC a few days ago to start. a friend of mine who is very good with the power fc helped me tune it on the street. the car was running great at 17 psi (60-1 precision turbo) untill it just fell on its face. i pulled over and the car wouldnt start so finally when we got it to start i kept it alive untill i got home bc it would not idle. im assuming its a massive vaccum leak and will start searching for it tomorrow. im new to rotary engines so if anyone has any advice feel free to pm me. i have big plans for this car but im kind of overwhelmed with where to start but at the same time i am extremely excited to get it running right and see what it does on the track.

9K seems a little high for a car that was zip tied together for me at least. but its a nice car and i hope it brings you more joy than heartache! What kind of track you trying to put it on? Drag? Road Course?

Have any pics of it. I just picked up my 95 FD for $4,600 and looks really good. It has 85,500kms (51,300 miles) on it. Then again, some older cars such as these are much cheaper here. I have pics posted in my introduction thread. Best of luck to ya finding out and fixing the problem!

I am not sure if you have been in the forums or not......but running 17PSI is a ton of boost on a FD. I hope you know what you are doing....because you could easily blow the motor.
Check out the reliability mods.....get those performed first.....and go from there. I wouldn't run any more boost over stock until all reliability mods are completed.....and then make upgrades all over the place.
Hopefully you didn't blow your engine.

thanks alot everyone i havnt been on the forums much and im not too good with useing it yet lol i just realized all you guys wrote on here. i removed most of the vacuum lines i didnt need with a friend who is a specialist on rx7s to be sure i didnt start taking them all out lol. the fuel would run lean then super rich then lean again so i was trying to find what the problem was for a few hours untill i took the in tank fuel pump setup out which was 2 walbro 255s zip tied together with one sitting 3 inches lower than the other both going into one line. i removed one of them bc the setup was just retarded. i just installed the block off plates and new fuel rails with 1680cc/850cc injectors. i purchased a koyorad, a new hks bov and a a/f wideband to start. i checked the compression and both chambers have 90psi! =] thank the lord. im considering a turbonetics gtk turbo with a custom fmic but i have some work to do first!
