Just bought a 91 convertible
Hey all, my name is Ben and I'm from Laurel, Maryland.
I drove a 97 Saturn for three years before it finally crapped out on me, and spent a good amount of time on craigslist looking for something that I really wanted, something out of the ordinary, because I've always driven boring cars and I wanted a change.
I found me a 91 rx-7 convertible with 133k for $3600 on craigslist, and immediately I just had a gut feeling like, this is the car for me. Had to jump through a few hoops to get it, but after walking away twice and the other guy having the mufflers fixed so it could pass inspection, it was finally mine.

The guy I got it from took pretty good care of it... he was proud of it, persnickety about maintenance and barely willing to let it go. (That's what he told me, at least...)
I admit, I know very little about cars. In fact my last car died because I basically didn't take care of it at all... I've also never driven a stick regularly before; I mean I can do it, but it's not smooth. After a week of driving the rx-7 I think I've gotten it down pretty well though.
Anyway, I'm planning to do lots of reading, on this forum and also a book I got called Auto Repair For Dummies. I'm eager to learn all about this sexy thing.

I don't know a whole lot (anything) about any RX-7 other than the first gen, but what i do know is that you're going to have to take care of it! Treat it good, and it will treat you just as well. Its no Saturn.
