WA Introduction

Hello rotary heads,

My name is Scott.
After years of asking (begging/convincing) I was given a 1982 Mazda RX-7 from my grandma. it was my first car I owned when I was legal to drive. I had no idea what I had. I was the second owner of a mint (still have all the maintenance records) 1st gen rx7. So, I drove the wheels off of it.
At 180,000 plus miles it developed a small oil leak. Not having the money as a teenager I decided to put it in my parents barn. After letting it sit for nearly 9 years I decided it was time to rebuild the motor. I want to make this car my daily driver. I would love to get a motor that would supply 250+ hp and be very reliable.

I've been reading various forms on this site for some time. Most of the information I feel is adequate and useful.

Happy to be apart of this form.

Scott

Welcome to Taco Land..
If you do some digging you will find that your 250Hp quest will not come from a Normally aspirated rotary engine, without throwing a BANK at it,so you may want to think about that aspect.
But personally I would get the car back up and running if possible as you said it just had an oil leak.
Look at that aspect first, enjoy the car.,do some research and see what you can come up with.

Now any more answers to your questions can be found in various sections of this fine Forum or you can post some Tech related questions in the correct section.
Good luck,...get on the road and don't hit nuthin'..lol!
Cheers.
