Hey everyone, my is Levi and I'm new to forums and new to rotary engines, I've been in the car game for 4 years as technician and worked for Toyota and Honda. I recently bought an '85 RX7 GSL with the 12a engine and 5 speed. I love the car, it's great fun to drive, but it can be frustrating to try to fix.
They're mainly frustrating because the carb'd cars like your 12A are real finicky when it comes to spark plugs and good spark. With a worn engine, compression becomes an issue that just makes the problem worse and starts on cold, wet mornings border on impossible. Still, everything you need to know to fix that 1stgen can def be found here. It's all been done before, I assure you.

Well my engine seems ok, especially for how high the mileage is. 180k, starts and runs good. It's just kind of hard to find parts for. I have a whine noise in the rear end that I can't really pinpoint, and a bad alternator that is cross feeding to the warning lights.
