Introducing myself as Craig

Hello, my name is Craig and I am introducing myself as an old new member. In 1979 when I bought my rx7 I was a member of the rx7 club of America. I still have my rx7 but let my membership expire. Looking forward to being a member of this forum. I will be listing my car for sale when I become more familiar with the forum

Will look forward to seeing the pictures! Glad to hear that the car still runs and drives! How many miles are on the car? Do you still have your RX-7 Club publications?

My rx7 has 71000 miles on it, I also have complete history on the car including maintenance and gasoline fills. I do have 3 years of rx7 club publications also! Never been driven in Michigan winters!

Craig, we must be related but I don't recall having a brother. From another Mother possibly? Bob, also new here, also 1st gen. owner, also probably going to sell my car eventually? Err, the wife thinks I should anyway. :0/ Before anyone asks, I will post fotos first opportunity. Rx7_Bob

Always glad to see original owners find there way here. Makes me sad to hear when they plan to sell. I understand that the time to part with such things comes to everyone. But the cars are like a fountain of youth. They have the ability to take you back in time and remind you of how things once were. Remember the first time you saw one in the wild on the street, the anticipation before you took delivery and the gawks and looks you got when your car was new? Do what you must and I won't think any less of you, but I'd much rather see you fix up her blemishes and keep her for as long as you can. You've made it this far and you are a founding member of a pretty rare club.

Fountain of youth ... that's why I am trying to bring her back to life and drive again but I am old and the sweet low stance of the Rx7 is probably best left to younger folks. When I took delivery seeing another "in the wild" was rare. People actually waved and chased each other down to swap stories. I would come out of a gas station or convenience store and find groups of people huddled around the car, asking voluminous questions (always starting with what is it?). Lots of road trip memories come to mind. I will have those forever. The list price was $6,999 (though my dealership added a couple thousand in extras, like the Bosch fog lamps and tonneau cover before I drove away. Memories ... always, Bob

Same thing is still happening with my FD RX7.

The crowds at the gas stations I mean.

The difference, they are telling me what it is and what RX7s have meant to them.
