CA Im new so here it goes!

I just took like a half hour writing my introduction but it logged me out before i submited it and lost the whole thing so this time will be a summary of that...

Hello there my name is Brett I am from Victorville CA and unfortunately I DO NOT have anything rotary at the moment but here is my story...

Back from the time I could remember I loved import cars in general and couldnt wait till i was old enough to drive. After obtaining my licence when I was 16(back in 2003) I got my first car, a 93 mazda mx6, although not rotary and definitely not at all fast it was still a fun little car. I built my knowledge of body work including bodykits, shaving, paint and all that fun stuff with that car and got to know the local tuning scene with that car. Shortly after I was introduced to the owner of Krazzy rpm racing, a local rotary shop near where Im from in hesperia CA. I was interested in rotary the moment I knew anything about them, I was intrigued by the power to displacement concept.. Anyways, In 2005 I believe I came across an old accuaintance that was selling a 87 turbo II rx7 and with that being said I saved up every penny i had and got a small loan from a fellow co-worker at the time to get this car. The car was pretty much stoch when I got it aside from a intake filter and some cheesy interior lights the guy had installed. My first mods to the car were a fuel cut controller and a mbc. The mods gave me noticable gains but didnt satisfy my craving for more power so I went for the good old turbo and exhaust upgrade, unfortunately I didnt follow the shops recomendation for supporting mods including fuel pump and injectors(young and dumb) and I blew the engine about a month later.. Now that I needed to take the engine out I knew it would be the perfect time to do any major mods or do the build i wanted. The owner of this rotary shop sold me his personal cars engine and setup which included a street ported s5 engine with 3mm apex seals, a turbonetics 60-1 turbo, tial wastgate( I believe, its been a while now), front mount intercooler, greddy type s bov, microtec ecu, and of course everything that wasnt in use or a necessary item for driving was removed.. The car ended up making I believe 459 rwhp on the dyno, I dont remember exactly and I have lost my dyno sheet but anyways needless to say that is the moment I fell totally in love with rx7s. Unfortunately I had to sell the car due to financial reasons and I got a more fuel efficiant car until i had the money to start another project. I ended with a 97 spyder eclipse as my project car because i got it for pretty much nothing from a realitive and I am now trying to sell It to get back in the rotary world where my heart was left so long ago..

I am looking forward to seeing other peoples setups and hearing thier war stories on this forom and any useful information that can be obtained..

Until next time guys, keep it classy!

For Pete's sake, where do I get the Cliff notes to this monster post? When does the movie come out?

Hey, welcome aboard, Brett, and thanks for providing all the info! Hopefully, a rotary-powered rex is in your very near future!

well, as far as the years 1979 to 1985 go, the RX-7 is about the same as the musclecars. Real easy to work on without a whole bunch of electronic crap getting in the way.
