I'm new to the RX-7 world and I'm pumped.
I'm so excited.
I just bought a 93' FD3S touring. It had 59K original miles. I will be the third owner. The original owner was an old guy, and the second owner has rarely driven it in the last five years. The car is completely stock (except for a good looking set of wheels) and has been garaged it's whole life. I saved up and paid $13K, and I think that was a decent price.
I can't believe a actually got one of these rare cars, and that I found one in Idaho, and that it was all original. I think I must be the only one with one of these in my area. People just stare at me and wonder what the car is (especially since the badges are off of the car)
I've admired this car for a long time. IMO this is one of the best looking cars ever made. It's subtle, but extremely sharp looking. I'm also impressed with how fast it is. I'll admit, that coming from a Ford Ranger, its not hard to impress me with speed, but even stock this car is fast enough for me. (For now)
I'm glad that I found this forum. It looks like there is a TON of knowledge here.
What I want to know is: What do I need to do first? I've done a little research, so tell me if I am missing something.
-----I need to replace the AST ASAP. (Its already leaking)
-----I need to replace the fuel filer ASAP (I may already have water in the tank, It's -15 degrees in Idaho. LOL)
-----I want to replace the stock water temp gauge, cuz I know the gauge is not good, and it doesn't take long to melt this thing down.
-----I understand that I should replace the DP because it has a pre-cat and replacing it with a new pipe will drastically reduce under-hood temps.
Is there anything else that I should do right off the bat?
I'm so excited that I finally got the car of my dreams. I want to take good care of my new baby and keep it for a long time.
