Hello all,my name is Ian!
Just wanted to say hi and introduce myself a little. I typically hang out on the protege and miata forums but I am thinking I will be getting an RX7 next and want to familiarize myself with what to look for and what to be prepared for.
I currently have a strange sickness in the form of late 80's early 90's awd mazda compacts.
The first being a 1988 Mazda 323 GTX. Its a great little car with lots of little upgrades. Soon to be a barely street legal money pit. (more of a money pit than it already is)
The second is a 1990 Mazda Protege 4wd. Pretty darn stock right now, 1.8 sohc maybe 100 crank hp. Its a riot though. Already have a pretty much full jdm drivetrain and once I get the engine management sorted should be easily capable of 270-300 awhp. Planning to keep it mild and a daily driver.
Lastly is the car I will probably be giving up (For a period of time anyways) to get an FD. It is a 1975 911 S targa . The previous owner dumped a small fortune into it. Ill get some pictures up hopefully tonight, photobucket is blocked at work. I am probably going to be sending this car over the mountains to live at my parents house. They have a much nicer/dryer environment and my dad will be able to drive it more regularly than me.
Hope I can learn some good stuff here and pick up some good stuff in the classifieds.
THANKS!

I did zap your other Intro but this one had no name.the other did.
I took your name and added it in.
I would have approved this pretty well anyways as you were using your name as a Screen name anyhow..lol..(ya,I double checked that!)

Thanks. The body kit and fact that it is a targa dont do it any favors looks wise but it has a 964 motor. That is one of the last variations of the air cooled motor that porsce made, 3.6 liters and twin plug. Revs to the moon pretty quick, although I doubt rotary quick. Big turbo brakes and tons of suspension mods. Id like to find a nice coupe body to swap it all into.

It's home with my other mazdas!
Glad I went with the fd. It's been great so far. Working on replacing some small odds and ends. Also gonna do some reliability mods. Goals for this car are to keep it nice and fairly unmolested. It's relatively fast already.
Tensioner was missing, replaced that.
This thing was all cracked.

I'll be running these weds hopefully. Tc105n 17x9. Worried the +25 is too aggressive. I don't wanna roll the fenders.
